Lapinjärvi Central areas
The proposal "Kotipelto" was a shared winning entry in the open architectural competition. The competition, which focused on the challenges of maintaining the vitality of nationally valuable rural environments of Lapinjärvi, explored the possibilities for additional construction in the agricultural areas near the center of the municipality, and the shoreline.

- We took on the challenge of developing community-oriented living in an area that is currently characterized by highly private, single-family housing. We developed a block type where different types of houses enable a variety of living opportunities. The shared courtyards between the houses on private plots serve as semi-public gathering spaces that bring the residents together in everyday life. The plan was developed by Sami Vikström Architecture Ltd and the landscape architecture firm Aino Landscaping Oy.
