Hansalaituri housing block in Sompasaari

The building has a distinctive but subdued sculptural appearance in the landscape. From a close distance, the details related to the masonry technology of the facades are revealed – variable overlapping, texture and slight difference in depth between different brick surfaces. The thickness of the building body enable apartment floors that are opened in two, even three directions. The tower part of the building has two parallel exit stairs in the same vertical shaft.
