Annefred area city plan and building guidelines
ARK-house Architects Ltd. prepared block-specific construction guidelines and reference plans for the Annefred area to guide the principles of the future residential environment. The key planning principles for the area were developed as a partnership zoning project in collaboration with the City of Vantaa and YIT.

- Aviapolis is a developing airport city, with our planning area located at the new center for housing, services, and businesses. The goal was to create a dense, closed block structure around lush, tree-lined courtyards and squares, with a design that is more urban and clearly defined in spatial boundaries compared to a typical suburban neighborhood. The building massing is more detailed than usual, and the architectural appearance is more diverse. The courtyards are shared spaces for the area’s residents: the squares, block courtyards, and connecting pathways form a series of car-free outdoor spaces accessible to all residents of the area.
