ARK-house has designed several new urban residential buildings in Kruunuvuorenranta area, Helsinki. Total floor area of the project is 10 800 sqm, out of which 700 sqm commercial spaces, small shops and offices.
KRUUNUVUORENRANTA HOUSING COMPLETED
ATT POHJOIS-PASILA UNDER CONSTRUCTION
ATT Pohjois-Pasila -project is part of the new Postipuisto district in Helsinki. Buildings form a closed city block that has a shared courtyard with parking spaces underneath.
Total floor area of the project is 16 400 sqm.
KONEPAJA CITY BLOCK COMPLETED
YIT Konepaja city block has been completed. The building site is situated in Pasila area, Helsinki. Architectural design by ARK-house y. 2007-2020. The project concept is a large scale city sculpture which has a long freeform brick construction as a base and object-like colourful building masses composed on top of the base.
AS OY SOMPASAAREN HANSALAITURI
As Oy Sompasaaren Hansalaituri has been completed. It is situated in Sompasaari waterfront, Helsinki. Brickwork in the facades gives the building its distinctive look.

Välskärinkatu-project is in residential area in Järvenpää that is demanding in terms of cityscape. The project is in the construction phase.
The scope of the project is approx. 4750 sqm and has 80 apartments.
New modern timber housing in Tuomarinkylä Helsinki. Houses have been carefully designed to fit the existing small scale residential area.

ARK-house is collaborating with Harris-Kjisik Architects in Mellunmäki project. Project has 3 residential buildings and a parking garage. HASO Saariseläntie is carefully fitted to the challenging and rocky building site conserving the nature. Aino Landscaping has created the ecological concept for the forest ispired courtyard.
SAMI VIKSTRÖM ARCHITECTURE LTD BECOMES A SHAREHOLDER IN ARK-HOUSE ARCHITECTS
The collaboration of the two offices in various projects has been established as a permanent partnership during 2023, and Sami Vikström has started as one of the main shareholders of ARK-house architects Ltd. In his new position, Sami develops and renews ARK-house with his versatile experience in master-, architect- and urban planning. With the new team, ARK-house responds even better to the various challenges of a more sustainable built environment!

NEW HOUSING IN TÖÖLÖ, HELSINKI
The proposal "Sidokset" by Sami Vikström Architecture Ltd and ARK-house architects Ltd won the architectural competition of the city center of Ylöjärvi. Due to the rapidly developing transport connections, more housing, business and office spaces as well as services are required in the central area. The true challenge of the task was in combining the urban renewal with the aims of preserving the unique scenic values and the built cultural heritage of the area.

ARCHITECTURAL COMPETITION
The project consists of 4 residential buildings, 127 apartments, near the Keskuspuisto-park in Maunula Helsinki. Facades are made of variable brick-lay-outs. Total floor area of the project is 8 742 sqm.
ARK-house arkkitehdit Oy’s and Arkkitehtitoimisto Sami Vikström Oy’s proposal ”Puistoshakki” was awarded a purchase in Jyväskylä Kankaan Suvanto Architectural competition!

KANKAAN SUVANTO COMPETITION
HELSINGIN AIDA IS COMPLETED
AIDA project is based on the winning proposal in invited competition organized by the City of Helsinki and Bonava. 3 New buildings occupy a small footprint of the site thus conserving the existing nature. Base volumes are made out of brick, top floors are wooden.

Sami Vikström Architecture Ltd, ARK-house architects Ltd , and Aino Landscaping Ltd won the shared 2nd prize in the open architectural competition of Lapinjärvi municipality! 1st prize was not awarded. In the competition, the possibilities of improving the vitality of the valuable rural environment were explored with carefully situated infill housing and new public buildings.
